The garden needs some colour

The forest plan for the garden has some drawbacks, mainly the lack of wide open spaces with enough sun to plant masses of flowers.
The herons keep an eye on the arums

We moved the roses a few months back, they really don't like the shade much

But when I left the hanging flower pots on the lawn to get some rain the gardener decided that was an instruction to plant out the flowers. So I came home to six empty hanging pots and a few flowers dotted around the garden.

There's a lot of white. But at least he bougainvillea pots add colour for a short time

This is not an artfully placed dead log. This is the dead part of the peach tree. But I love the lichen, so it stays.

Last weekend we bought some colour bags to plant into the hanging pots, but then ran out of energy so they have been sitting on the bench all week, waiting patiently for us

Waiting patiently...

Once they were planted they needed hanging, of course, so I roped Scientist No 1 in to affix some cord to the tree...

Naturally, Child no 2 (aka Spade when there's gardening to be done) was nowhere to be found. But once the pots start growing we should have a little more colour in the garden.
